Our assessmentKeePassXC keeps your vault in a single encrypted .kdbx file on your own disk, so there is no account, no server and nothing to breach but your own machine. That makes it the best fit for people who already trust their own sync (Syncthing, a USB stick, a private cloud folder) and want full control. The price is convenience: no built-in sync, no native iPhone app, and sharing means passing files around.
