What assisted means

How automatic, assisted and manual directories differ, and what you do yourself in each case.

Updated

Three kinds of directory

  • Automatic. The directory has a documented way to submit, or we have a reviewed integration for it, and your plan includes automation. We submit; you confirm the run first.
  • Assisted. We prepare every field in a copy-ready pack and open the directory's submit page. You paste, submit in your own browser, then confirm what you did.
  • Manual. The directory gives instructions only. We show them and keep the record.

Why not everything is automatic

We only automate where the directory's terms and robots.txt permit it. Where they do not, or where we cannot tell, the directory stays assisted or manual. A person solving a captcha does not make a forbidden directory allowed.

Where you are needed

Sign-in steps, captchas and manual reviews are always for a person. They appear under "Needs you" on the campaign, and we email you when one is waiting.

Still stuck? Write to the address on the Privacy Policy and say what you were doing and what you saw.
